Family

We went to the Art and Wine Faire on Park St. last Saturday, then we hit the Gilroy Garlic Festival last Sunday.

We had fun in both festivals but it seemed too hot to be out there in the sun.  Too hot that I was beat before the day ended in Gilroy.  And too beat I snapped at hubby in argument over a supposedly delightful strawberry and sugar-laced funnel cake.  The food’s great as always. We all came home with garlic-induced gassy guts.

Hubby and I decided that it’s probably gonna be a while before we go back.  Perhaps a few years. We’ve been going there for three years in a row anyway (him even longer). We just need to hunt for the garlicky treats elsewhere because I’m sure I’m going to miss those really dope juicy crawdads and ”my” garlic ice cream.

*SIGH* If only these festivals weren’t too UV-laced.

so near, yet so far…

Okay, so I already signed up my other blogsite with Payperpost, got approved and I have been sitting for two days now, my eyes are drying up from staring too much and the only thing I have gained so far is a good skill in logging in and out of Payperpost (and that didn’t require any skill at all!).  How come I am not SEEING any opportunities for me? I’m so excited and of course looking forward to earning some extra dough because we’re this close to getting the townhome, the own place we have always dreamed of, and I think with the economy in peril, I think I can use some extra income.

so near yet so far…too…

We placed an offer for the townhome I just mentioned. As I write this, I don’t know if we’re going to finally get it.  That means, more forms to sign and just a lot, and I mean a LOT of patience…I’m this close to jumping up and down in jubilation — about finally having my own working fireplace, my very own tree this Christmas (really), and a squeaky clean kitchen and laundry room.

If only I can manage to earn more money so I won’t have to scrimp on Starbucks and such! LOL

Any tips on this Payperpost thingy?

My stepdaughter will finally get to spend a long time with us this summer.  She’s arriving tomorrow.  I’m ready. I washed the sheets.  I did the grocery (she’s low maintenance – feasts on bagels and captain crunch!).  She turns into a gourmet at night though. So I’m looking forward to making better dinners…and going out with hubby and her as a family.  We’re definitely going to the salon for maybe some manicure and pedicure, and a little hairstylin’.

The only thing that takes a lot from me is having those little fun parties and activities with her cousins.  We really make it a point to gather them when she’s around.  That way, they can make a lot of great growing up memories together, and hopefully so they can grow old close.  So even if I’m tired (and broke), it’s all worth it. It’s a chance for me to go places too! My inner child is hungry for experience…adventure…and play!

This summer, we hope to visit these places:

Alcatraz

Santa Cruz Mystery Spot

Winchester Mystery House

Garlic Gilroy Festival

among other things….got any more suggestions? Be kind to THE wallet!
